Acorn Bespoke Carpentry and Joinery, based in Horsham, West Sussex, designed and installed these beautiful bespoke fitted alcove units for a residence in Reigate, Surrey. Our clients wanted a streamlined, classic look with plenty of illuminated shelving to display their artefacts and books.

Made to measure in a shaker style

These made to measure fitted alcove units feature a stepped cornice detail which suits the classic features of the high-ceilinged living room. The cupboard doors are in a shaker style. This has a timeless simplicity, which complements the rest of the room and doesn’t detract from the display area.

Alcove units with the wow factor

Expertly designed and well proportioned, the alcove units will have a pleasing, balanced look. Treasured items are displayed on the tailored shelving; while everyday living room clutter is neatly hidden away in the lower cupboards.

Bespoke white painted finish

We handcrafted the cabinets in an oak veneered MDF, which was spray lacquered at our own paint-spraying facility to achieve an exceptionally high-quality white finish. The choice of classic white for the built-in furniture adds to the feeling of lightness and luxury.

Integrated lighting

As you can see, this alcove project features integrated LED lighting. While the main role of the lighting is to highlight artworks and add interest to the scheme, the warm glow also creates a lovely atmosphere in the evening.

The built-in alcove units have transformed the space and are now a stylish focal point for the room.
