This bespoke fitted home office furniture in Reigate Surrey was carefully designed and built to meet the exact specifications of our client. Commissioning bespoke fitted furniture from Acorn allowed them to have the exact style and storage they required; and we worked closely with them to plan the layout and features that needed to be incorporated and customised.

The made to measure furniture has been constructed with shaker style doors and drawer fronts for a simple and timeless look. Real oak veneer was used for the cupboards and drawers; and the worktops are full stave solid wood worktops made from sustainable, premium European oak. A full stave worktop is a long unbroken expanse of timber and is the most luxurious option. We hand finished the oak worktops with natural Danish oil to nourish the wood and bring out the beautiful colour and grain of the wood.

White spray-painted units

The majority of the fitted units have been flawlessly spray painted in a 15% sheen white. Sheen is a measure of the reflected light from a paint finish. This soft, low sheen finish has an understated timeless elegance and white has a fresh, clean look that can make a room appear larger. The backs of the units are finished in a Farrow and Ball mid blue paint for contrast. At Acorn Bespoke Carpentry and Joinery, our paint-spraying facility uses the latest technology to achieve a flawless flat finish to the bespoke furniture made in our workshop.

All the doors have been hung on premium quality Blum concealed hinges and fitted with integrated soft close mechanisms for effortless operation. The large drawers you can see in the middle are filing cabinet drawers.

Illuminated shelving

The open shelving in the top section of the built-in furniture is softly illuminated with LED lighting, with all the wiring carefully concealed. Lighting the shelves adds ambience and dimension to the furniture, while also highlighting awards, photographs and other items on display. You can view more of our integrated lighting designs here.

The mirrored back with glass shelves adds sparkle, shine and depth to the room. Using mirror to expand a space is a classic interior design trick, and here it creates the effect wonderfully well. The glass shelves reflect light and glisten too. We then fitted a decorative cornice around the unit to tie in with the rest of the room.
