This stunning bespoke fitted living room walnut wall furniture was custom-made for a client’s home in West Sussex. Acorn Bespoke Carpentry and Joinery designed and crafted both of the bespoke units; one for the main living area featuring a fireplace, and the other one for a TV lounge. Both share the same panelled style and distinctive walnut finish, which elevates each room into an impressive and luxurious space.

Our client wanted the living room wall units to be functional, yet also highly attractive architectural features in a dark-toned wood. So, we worked closely with her to decide on the design and materials; and after presenting various proposals and samples, she settled on the panelled design in oiled walnut. Walnut, with its rich, deep colour and characteristic grain, is one of the finest species of wood for high end furniture.

Walnut fitted lounge unit with corner fireplace

The bespoke walnut fitted lounge unit is the largest single piece of furniture we have created at Acorn Bespoke Carpentry and Joinery. Its total dimensions are 3750mm wide by 5600mm high. The mix of walnut panels with their alternating grain patterns give an amazing sense of depth and dramatic interest to the wall. The shadow gap gives the panels a crisp, graphic line and definition so each one stands out.

Made to measure hidden living room storage

There are hidden storage compartments behind some of the panels, which are cleverly disguised doors with concealed push to open mechanisms. When closed you would never know they were there. The walnut panels are also fitted with split battens so they can be easily removed for cleaning.

Built-in fireplace furniture

In the living room, this bespoke walnut wall is an exciting alternative to a traditional mantelpiece. The gas fireplace, a Corner Bell from Bellfires, was integrated into the fitted furniture using bespoke specialist, spray finished metal trims.

Bespoke fitted TV wall unit

Entertainment walls have become an important feature of the modern lounge. Here, the bespoke fitted walnut furniture has the TV at its centre, displayed for optimum viewing enjoyment. The Bang and Olufsen speakers have been artistically and seamlessly sited into the walnut panels too.

Integrated technology and lighting

We integrated bespoke lighting into the built-in furniture and carried out all the associated wiring tasks too. Lighting is wonderfully effective for adding extra dimension, atmosphere and accents. You can see some more of our lighting designs here.
