This bespoke freestanding desk was handcrafted in real oak and walnut wood veneers for our client who appreciates the intrinsic beauty and sustainability of natural wood.

After unsuccessfully searching for a readymade desk, our client commissioned us to create a made to measure solution for them. The style of the desk needed to closely match existing furniture in their house, and work well with dark tones of the study. With our bespoke service you can see your furniture before we build it. In this instance, we used CAD to view various designs and finishes for the desk in 3D and to show it in the context of the room.

The oak desktop and the legs have a stunning jet-black gloss lacquered finish, with solid walnut accents on the lip and back. With its striking grain and rich, dark, natural lustre, walnut is a highly sought-after exotic hardwood for high end luxury furniture and joinery.

One of the most important features for the client was to have a concealed cable management built into the desk, to keep the room’s clean, uncluttered aesthetic. We added a hidden panel into the back to house power lead and plugs and created a hollow desktop with cables running through the legs to the floor.
